In Need of Help Topic

Dear Hoops Dynasty Dominators,

I've been playing Gridiron Dynasty for a while and have decided to try my hand here after the new update. I've read what I could but I am still lacking some serious knowledge in how to set-up a team that can be competitive both now and into the future.

I took over Tufts in Phelan and look to have a really tough rebuild on my hands.

If anyone could sitemail me or just respond, I have a few basic questions.

What am I legitimately looking for in recruits? How much money does it usually take to go after guys? What types of general tricks (I realize that I can't ask for everything for free) can use to recruit a great first class?

What Defense should I play? What offense? Does it make sense just to stick to what I have right now?

What skills are the most important? Everyone mentions some are less important? Intuitively I think I understand which, but I am wondering what people think?

I've tried to read the FAQ's, forums, and developer chats, but I still have a lot unanswered. Any help would be extremely appreciated.

God bless.

And what about this Future Stars service? Is this something I should consider or is just a big waste of money?

Personally, I use FSS in at least 3 or 4 states in my area.
What I do is call the HS coach of my recruit first to see what offense or defense they run and if it is/are the same offense or defense that I run or not.
If you run man to man then defense is more important but if you run press then speed and ath. are more vital.

Depending on your budget, in DIII I would stay relatively close distance wise, I would say nothing over 200 miles.

Depending on how many schollies you have to fill, I would say make sure you recruit High Work Ethic guys and make sure you fill your class. Because taking a walk-on or two doesn't really help you build for the future.

For guards I would look for high Ath, Spd, BH, & Passing

For my Big Men I would look for high Reb, LP, Blk, Ath, Spd

As you are a C- presitge you will have a hard time competing for the top recruits, as the other schools will have bigger budgets. So I would say go after High WE guys close to home, high in the core areas listed above, make sure you fill your class, and do not take any walk-ons.

I would say the range would be anywhere from 400-430, depending on the recruits core areas, and distance, thats what I would be looking at.

Hope this helps, and I am not the best to be taking advice from, and I am sure other vets have some other tips, and suggestions.

USE FSS on a few states in your immediate area, but I would not exceed 20% of your budget on it, better to keep it at 10% or so.

Skills....depend on O/D, but assuming you want to stay with Motion/Man. And I would, HD doesn't have a 'magic' o/d like GD does.

PG, in order: Spd, BH, Pass, Def, Ath, Per, Reb, Stm,

SG: Spd, Per, BH, Def, Ath, Pass, Reb, LP

SF: Ath, Spd, Reb, some LP/PER/DEF

PF: Ath, Reb, LP, Def, Blk, BH, Per

C: Ath, Reb, LP, Def, Blk, Pass, FT%

Key trick in D3 is to target guys on the D2 screen, they can be called, and ifthey say you are a 'backup' then they will take your effort if you first do some scouting evaluations.
