Because as it stands right now, it appears that being listed as a player's "Favorite School" is worth about 82 cents worth of recruiting effort.
Ineligibles going to a community/JUCO doesn't have anything to do with your effort. They sometimes just do it. At least that is my understanding.
You might (probably will) have first shot at him if he becomes eligible next season from what I understand.
