You guys are ridiculous. The program screwed up and he fixed it. The first results were obviously skewed by incorrect ratings. They should not have been played the way they were.

Maybe you should have your facts straight before you run your mouth?

The "program" didn't screw up, Seble screwed something up in the program (which he admitted). Two totally different things and the second year in a row he screwed something up.

#2, you say "the results were obviously skewed because of incorrect ratings", ok fine. So then what am I supposed to think when my team lost MORE points than the team I beat (if I remember correctly I lost 11-13 and he lost 7-9) yet we lost too them the second time.

Now that you have been shown how stupid your post was maybe you can go ahead and exit thread, thanks

It is the same thing with regards to the outcome. There was something wrong with the program, regardless of how it got messed up which messed up the results. You are trying to argue semantics.

But, thanks for showing me how stupid my post was. I guess everyone should think the same as you.

You are hilarious, I will give you that. However, I would be willing to bet MOST people that screwed up something big enough to ruin 5 months of work at their job it might be a big deal
5/30/2010 5:38 PM
clearly, your team not making the final 4 ruined 5 months of work

perfectly reasonable statement

$5 credit for teams that lost in the Sweet 16 in the replay and lost in the Elite 8 in the original run
$17.95 ($5 + free season) for teams that lost in the Elite 8 in the replay and lost in the Final 4 in the original run
$22.95 ($10 + free season) for teams that lost in the Sweet 16 in the replay and lost in the Final 4 in the original run

So essentially, credits were given to make up the difference lost from original to replay and in addition a free season credit has been added for teams that were still alive in the original run.

I know this doesn't erase the frustration for those who lost in the replay, but at least it makes up for the loss in credits. This was clearly a no-win situation, but I felt (and still do) that the integrity of the game would have been compromised more by not replaying the games. I know some of you feel differently, but to me those original games weren't valid. Maybe the ratings changes didn't affect the outcome of every game, but the point is that it didn't affect all teams equally, so the changes were relevant to the outcomes.

Hopefully nothing like this happens again, but if it does I'll certainly take more time before deciding on a solution. I'm still surprised by the strong reaction. I expected those who won in the original run to be upset, but I also expected most people to understand that those games weren't valid and that a replay was the fairest solution. The impression I have now is that most of you guys feel it's better to keep the original results (even if invalid) over replaying the games. I don't agree with that, but I understand the problems with a replay.

So I apologize again about all of this and I hope we can move past it and enjoy the game.

If it happens again that a replay is needed - I hope you prepare yourself now by writing a tool that can recall what the settings/distro were.

It isn't fair to say that the games were "replayed" - because that implies that everything is done over again with the problem corrected.

By allowing coaches to switch their settings/distro's you basically gave anyone who lost a mulligan on their gameplan. This is what bothered most here (win or lose) imo.

I already gave my opinion on all this when it happened. Having read some other responses, I wanted to add that I certainly believe the corrective actions were taken in good faith, even as many of us continue to disagree with the decision. What's done is done, and the credits are at least a good gesture and good effort to restore what was lost to the extent possible.

My final thought is what is done is done and if they are paying for my next few seasons ill stick around until I don't have to pay anymore (although dropped Berks as I would of had to spend a few bucks).

As I have said before, I actually really like the new engine I just hope Seble can start cleaning up some of these mistakes that effect the entire season
