Assistant Coach Advice Topic

Rookie question here.....I like how the assistant coach gives advice on whether you are practicing a certain attribute too much. If the coach tells you a player doesn't need more time with rebounding, does this mean that he is completely maxed out and will not get any better no matter how much time you put on it? If so, what do you do? cut it back to 7 mins so that he doesn't get worse? Thanks!

You get a message about "EXTRA practice time" when he's close to maxing out. I tend to still keep a good number of minutes until I get the "that's all I can get from him" message. Then I move it back to 7.

I lower the minutes down to 8. That is enough to pick up that extra ratings point. Then I drop it to 7.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

When I get the maxed out email I just cut minutes down to 1-3 min for that attribute depending on how many other areas he's maxed out in and I've never had a problem or had the player lose skill points. It really helps free up minutes for extra areas.

3 minutes for LP and PE ... 7 for everything else to stay constant.

I imagine for very high WE guys, you might be able to go lower than 7, but I usually don't try it.

For players with a low potential area I normally set them to 1-2 practice minutes from day 1. They sometimes lose 1-2 ratings per season but it's normally not a core area for their position.
Even with average WE guys, I haven't had any problems lowering practice minutes for a maxed-out category below 7, but when they max out its usually in a core area such as C in Reb so I normally keep it a bit higher (4-6). To me it really depends on how core the skill is for the player.
