Though I'm disappointed to lose my first conference game ever, this actually isn't a complaint thread - I'm just trying to figure out what went wrong so I can do better in the future.

Is it just one of those games, where he had a couple guys with good (for them) games and I had a couple guys sh*t the bed?

Or did I screw up some strategy somewhere that made my team underperform so badly?

If you need any information to help figure out how I might be able to improve (this season, so recruiting better players isn't an option at this point), just let me know.

Your PG has a god awful game. Considere lowering his distro or chalk it up to their press.

He did, in fact, have a horrible game. By his ratings though, he should be one of the best players on my team. I didn't think the focus of the offense was on him too much (I had three guys with equal distro), but it seems it may have been.

As far as the press goes, with all this talk in the forums of it being "dead" I figured this matchup wasn't a bad one for me. 25 turnovers later, even though he played only 7 guys and they were tired most of the game, I wonder a bit about how dead the press really is.

Some of those are correct - one thing you aren't considering is that his is a team with many seniors who all have really high IQs. Press is (correctly) difficult for lower IQ teams to play well, but high IQ teams seem to be doing ok. His press meant the ball was in your PGs hands a lot, and he had a bad day...IMHO

you are running a new offense it looks like - no one is above C + I think you will have trouble until your team IQ improves on any given game...I'd put 25 minutes into your offense for sure and try to ride it out.

I still am not sure how tempo works since every time it comes up there is a huge argument and all the vets choose sides and tell each other how wrong they are...but for me, slowdown tempo means that you will look for the best shot, making extra passes to do so. With a low IQ offense against a high IQ defense those extra passes would seem to have a better chance to result in turnovers...I would think regular tempo is better

I don't have an opinion on why you lost, I'm just wondering how he ran FCP AND FB AND only played 7 players. That is ridiculous.

He has a team of all freshman with a new O/D set. C level IQs
