It's late in the season (playoffs) in one of my worlds, and I find myself with a few million in player payroll over.

What I'd like to do is resign one or two of my own FAs, and use that over payroll money as bonuses, in the hope that doing so would allow me to keep the players' yearly salaries lower.

Does anyone know if this will work? Will the bonus money come out of the payroll from the year when the contract is signed (this year's player payroll), or the payroll for the first year of the new contract (which would be next year's player payroll)?

It comes out of the 1st year of the contract. So the bonus would be out of next season's player salaries. In other words, you cant do what your trying to do.

First year of the new contract, i.e. next season.
