all-conference/all-american selections Topic

Even in the old engine, I already started players at positions other than their assigned position, and I know many other coaches did as well. With this new recruit generation I understand and will soon see many more players starting at positions other than their HS positions. My question being, will all-american/all-conference selections be changed to reflect the primary position played rather than the listed position of a player any time soon?

Interesting question. I've not seen it addressed

I know it would probably take a lot of excess programming, so it is probably not a priority, but it would be nice to see

Personally, I'm curious how All-Conf. and All-American players are selected in the first place. We had an SG in my conference this past season who was selected second-team All-Conf, but then turned around a few days later and was named third-team All-American with nary a mention of the first-teamer anywhere.

It's not a huge deal (so far as I know), but it did prompt a bit of head-scratching and wtf-ing.

I don't think there'll be that big a difference in that area. It was already exceedingly common to play a guard at either guard spot, a big at either big spot, a pf or sg at sf, etc. This might happen a little more now, but I doubt the difference will be significant. This is just one that is never going to be touched, and I think that's fine.
