Can anyone post the chart to help determine study hall minutes. I know its here somewhere but can't seem to locate it.

It is in the players guide:

During the course of the season, you will receive 2 mid-term reports and 2 final grade E-mails regarding your players. The mid-term reports are simply giving you updates on how your players are performing in the classroom, giving you a chance to adjust minutes if need be. However, if any of your players fall below a 2.0 for his final grade, he will be declared academically ineligible. If this is the first semester, he will have the chance to come back just before the Conference Tournament begins, assuming he gets his grades up. If a player falls below 2.0 during the 2nd semester, he is done for the year. To avoid this, I've used this formula that I stole from Oldresorter. By allocating my Study Hall minutes this way, I've never had a player declared ineligible in 60 seasons of HD:

* Freshman: 4.0 - HS GPA x 10
* Sophomore: 3.6 - GPA x 10
* Junior: 3.2 - GPA x 10
* Senior: 2.8 - GPA x 10

HS GPA x10? So a freshman with a 4.0 coming in needs 40min of study hall?

HS GPA x10? So a freshman with a 4.0 coming in needs 40min of study hall?
(4.0 - HS GPA)x10 ... so if his HS GPA is 2.8 ...

(4.0 - 2.8) x 10 = 12

Using this formula if his HS GPA was 2.5; 4.0 - 2.5 = 1.5 x 10 = 15 minutes.

I use fewer minutes than these and then react at the midterms.

Ok makes much more sense.

Does this formula work in the new engine? I keep seeing a lot of discussion over study hall and the new engine but haven't seen anyone state if this formula is still safe or not.

I don't think Academics changed.

So Hughes. . how do you apply this formula to A: Internationals and B: Redhirt freshmen?

MY international I have no HS GPA for, what would you default to?

And for a redshirt freshman who has a real GPA now, woudl you use the Freshman or Sophomore formula?

Thanks, I'll cross my fingers that that's correct. :) Just getting nervous seeing all the complaints about unexpected academic DQ's since the new engine.

I have used the same formula since I started HD, and every year my players are 3.0 or higher. Including this year in the new engine.

Freshman 15 min

Sophomore 10 min

Junior 5 min

Senior 0 min

I go Frosh - 5 and Soph - 3 and then react at the midterms. Been doing it that way for many seasons and just had my 1st ineligible.

66 seasons - no ineligibles (so far) and here is my system:

FR - all get 10 minutes to start, then adjust up/down based on reports

everyone else:
3.5 + none
3.0-3.4 2-5 minutes (maybe)
2.1 - 2.9 8-10 minutes
2.0 and below 15 minutes minimum (based on gpa history)

is something up with this in the new engine? I have a freshman who had a bad 1st mid-term, 1.6 GPA. I got nervous about the new engine and went really far - 30 min SH time. At the end of the term I was stunned, he had a 1.8 GPA, ineligible. So I bumped up his SH time some more. Next mid-term, 1.6 GPA again. Am I supposed to put all of the time into SH?
