Does a player progress more getting 1/2 time in the majors or fulltime in AAA?

   Players dont' do much developing ( if at all ) in the bigs.  A full season in AAA with good coaching and optimal makeup is the best recipe for development.

Players progress just as much in the big, as long as they play. But to answer your question, FT in AAA.

players do develop in the bigs, its just that most of the time by the time they are there they are done developing...so people make a false correlation of big league promotion = done developing

but yes, FT in AAA for sure
