i was kind of hoping he could be a bit of a zone buster.  something to help loosen up minus defenses.  freshman year he still hit over 40% of over 100 threes. i do run a triangle/zone. i don't think he did all that bad for a rookie all things considered.

he started with a couple of bad games or it would have been a bit better.  yeah, i realize that his defense is pretty bad, but i was hoping he could do a bit of Steve Kerr type stuff.

If you look at my Rochester team, I have an SG who is now starting for his third year (will also start next year) and has shot over 40% each season.  Freshman year he led the team in scoring; this season so far he is 2nd in the conference.  It's a fairly average conference in a sub-par D3 world, but nevertheless he's doing all this solely on the strength of 60+ perimeter and ball handling.  His speed and athleticism are still in the low 30s now.

I doubt that would work in an offense other than the triangle, but since you're in the triangle you might be able to put a bit more distro on him.  He might be able to be the primary scorer on your second unit.
