have a guy i called up late this season and he played 43 games and 160 atbats, will he be a rookie at the start of next season?
how does that work? by atbats or by games? etc.
thanks for any help.

No, he won't be a rookie (by MLB standards.)

The current standard is 130 at bats, 50 innings pitched or 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club.

Although there does seem to be a glitch in HBD where if a player doesn't accumulate the standards (130 at bats, 50 innings pitched or 45 days on the active roster of a Major League club.) in any one season but instead over 2 or more seasons he will still be eligible for ROTY.  This is not how it's done in MLB.
