if i recruited a guy who looked good to me and failed to notice his 17 work ethic, is it worth trying to redshirt him for a year when he can get more pt and see if his we goes up?

if his w.e. doesn't drop when you redshirt him, but he will lose points in the offseason. If he gets significant minutes his redshirt freshman season his w.e. will begin to rise....

well, next season he would end up being the main backup to a starting small forward senior with only a 75 stamina so i would think he would get some minutes then.

17 is bad but it isnt so bad that he will get worse throughout his career. Give him the redshirt, it will give him 1 more year of improvement and also for the reason you said.

with also starting at a 63% free throw with high potential.(not sure how to tell hat to expect that percentage to end at) don't think he would be a d3 star, but thought he would be a solid sf who wouldn't hurt me.  if i can ever get him near those numbers.
