My brother has been doing HBD for a while and loves it. I've done the sim baseball a bunch, but want more.

Where does a newbie in HB start? What league etc...etc..

thanks all.

Check classifieds. All worlds are represented there. Some don't take new owners but many do.

Also, two public worlds will have openings next week.  Keep your eye on the "join league" page.   My advice would be to start in a public league or two to learn the game, then join a private one.   Other advice, read all the developers chats, and read the post called "WKRP Radio (or How to Rebuild a Disaster".  Don't be afraid to ask questions and don't let the few a-hole's on the forums get to you (a recent lesson I have learned).   Sitemail me any time with questions as long as you don't mind long winded answers.

Not a bad idea but a private world with vets you can get advice from and are patience might be better to learn the game. But your brother plays so I'm sure he can give you advice.

Som public worlds are solid bur others can be nightmares. Private worlds can be too but less so.

Join Spahn when it opens soon. Ill be happy to answer general questions in the meantime but you should read the forums and the help sections religiously if you expect your team to win. Ask a lot of questions--find somebody you trust and ask them for advice and to clear up any uncertainties. Don't make any roster moves of any kind until you are sure you know what you're doing

Best advice: Make your mistakes, and learn from them. That's how everyone started, once upon a time.

If you are bent on asking questions to steepen your learning curve, try to seek out people with proven track records.

The HBD mentor list can help there.
