i think once all the old recruits graduate, we'll get a better feel for if it's really that impossible for low-level D1 schools to be competitive.

And in the meantime, if you happen to be coaching a low-to-mid-level D1 school right now, it really sucks to be you.........I dropped Montana in Smith after 1 season because I didn't want to deal with tripling the amount of time and effort I'd have to put in to ATTEMPT to match what I was able to do before.....I knew that for at least another 3 seasons (and almost $40) I'd probably be in major trouble trying to make the NT.......

The scale has changed, you wouldn't nor should you be able to match before.
And many of the elite programs will be in the same boat just as early or even earlier because of early entries.

this is my problem with the new recruits. This player here is in the top 300 ranked. He has DIV III / II ratings. How in the world is he in the DIV I search engine ranked int the top 300 recuits? There is no way this is a DIV I type player.  Now, this is what low prestige DIV I teams have to recruit in order to rebuild. How can you rebuild a team off of players like this?
he's a div 1 player in the context of the new recruits
EXACTLY! Thats the problem.
Why exactly IS that a problem?  The rating scale is changed.  You can't use previous season's ratings as a measuring stick for this.

Look at his core rating. His passing is like 13. How is that DIV 1 player? The old engine would of had this guy DIV III mabey DIV II. This is the problem. DIV I schools with D prestige, now have to recruit players like this to build off of. Not to mention, this guy is a top 300 player and damn near top 50 SG. It's just stupid.
