I think in IBA the national champ was unranked in D1.

It happened in the old engine too -

44 options 26-9 10-2 8-6 8-1 9-7 2 3 A+ NT At-large Bid
National Champion

Finished ranked second behind a team that I beat in the NT (and had beaten during non-con play as well).  It would make more sense to just stop updating the Top-25 after the CTs.
