Two questions about playoff rosters

1) Does a rule 5 player have to be on the playoff roster without losing him for the next season?

2) Does putting a minor leaguer on the the playoff roster start his arb clock even if he is send back to the minors after the playoffs?

No, just on the 40.

I don't think playoff time counts but I'd get another opinion.

Only regular season service time counts towards the arb clock.

Any thoughts that playoff time might stunt growth if they go back to the minors the season after?

Why would it stunt his growth? It should help his growth more than anything considering that he would get a couple extra AB's or IP's.

Because they are playing on the MLB level and then they will be going back to the minors next year? Probably just being over cautious...

I don't think that being demoted after the season has any effect on growth. As long as he is playing and receiving quality coaching then he will develop.
