Pretty simple concept.

Sign up and get randomed a season from 1950 - 2007 and create your team using any season of the players that were drafted that season.  Should create some interesting teams as it will not be cookie cutter teams. 

No WW, No Rookies, No Clones...42 M cap.

the whole getting a random year is a huge deterrent.  Draft Class leagues used to be pretty standard fare, but not being able to choose (or at least draft) a year yourself... that's going to keep a lot of people from joining.

Agree w/ ash. People want/need a good chance of getting a good team. There were some pretty sucky draft years.

Other ideas for randomization:
colleges (might need more than one for each owner for some colleges)
past playoff teams or champs (twist any player?)
divisions/years - can only draft players from a certain division in a specific year (twist 'em tho)

If you create the old LOTD for this past season, I just might join since we were able to twist players.

The other issue is that any draft class before the late 80s can't compete because of the sim's current emphasis on 3pters.

How about a sightly different take on this one? 

What if you had to build your team from two different years with each year from a different era. So each owner gets randomly assigned one year to draft from starting from the 86-87 season up to the current 09-10 if possible. Then each owner gets randomly assigned one draft year from 59-60 to 86-87. You have to start at least 2 players from each era and each starter must play at least 2400 minutes. Trades of draft years is okay but only within the same era. Therefore, you cannot trade the 60-61 season for the 97-98 season. 

Too complicated or does it sound like fun?
