Why increase a players ratings to hall of fame level except for his splits which stay at 19-12? DITR by definition is a player who is better than you first thought. But 19-12 splits makes him worthless. I don't expect a DITR stud, but 19-12 splits tell me he's not any better than before he became a DITR, regardless his other bump in ratings.

But, if the other ratings increase, he's still better.  Right?

Is he better?  Yes, but I think mitch's point is this:  What good is a gold glove or league leading pitch calling ability if, after you promote him to the next level, he can't hit above.200 because of low vL/vR ratings???     Or for pitchers...What good is leading the league in fewest walks per 9 innings if, after you promote him to the next level, he gives up 2 hits every inning and struggles to get anyone out because of low vL/vR ratings???

So you only want DITR who can become legit BL players?   That's fine.   Just don't send the notices for those who won't achieve certain splits.  Instead of the "All my DITR suck" comments, we'll get "I never get a DITR".   Will that make you happy?

It certainly wouldn't be more "fun".

Apollorapp would like "more fun" please.

Actually, I'd be OK with this.  There's really no need to send an email when a pitcher's potential stamina goes from 60 to 80, or his control goes from 50 to 70 if his splits are in the 20's.

And DIAMOND implies something better than a AA-max player.  These kinds of players could be handled like the current stupid pitching and position player updates we get that say "MikeT has been tearing it up at Low-A with a WHIP of 1.65 and an average IP/game of 3.5"

That's just terminology.

Someone gets a bump, the system notifies you that they've been bumped. I don't think renaming it is the most crucial thing in the world.

Still would love the opposite though. "Your #1 overall pick has just lost a crapload of points".

I'm pretty sure there are low quality DIAMONDS in the world.   They're just overpriced and shipped to Canada.

If you only want to get notified when one of your career minor leaguers has something "click" and all of sudden becomes a major league player, you won't get very many notifications.  In fact, you may never get one.  WIS tried to add a feature to the game that gives a little added depth.

And don't forget that having a better minor league system is good for the guys who will eventually make it to the majors.  Even if the DITR won't ever make it, he may help a guy that will.

Nope. With 19-12 splits you're awful. Your were awful before. Just let's say the hierarchy at it's worst is 'awful'. Now improvement from awful would be crap. Okay smarty pants.

Personally I'd rather have them remove the whole DITR thing. This feels like a MG reunion.
