DL Question: Replacing with AAA guy Topic

My MLB Long Reliever A just experienced tendonitis...out for 42 days.  If I 60 DL him and replace from AAA and then send that guy down when I remove the MLB guy from the DL do I use up an option on the AAA guy?

Will he experience a ratings low when returned to AAA?

Those anwers will make a difference how I handle this.

Anytime a player is on the 40 and in the minors, he uses an option.   If he's in the BL, he does not burn an option.  In order to promote a player from AAA, he will have to be on the 40.  If he's already on the 40, his option year has already been burnt.  If he's not, he will because you have to put him on the 40.

He will not experince a ratings dip, provided you promote him in the same action in which you put the other guy on the DL, and you demote him in the same action in which you remove the guy from the DL.

If I move a guy up with zero options left, can I move him down again, no problem, when my guy comes off the DL?

NO - In order to move a player down from ML to minors he MUST have options or forced to go to waivers
