HD, and more notably WIS, are most known for being able to simulate athletic events that are hypothetical.

Something that has always kind of annoyed me is how my teams "disappear" so much after the season is over. You can't go back and look at a guys ratings or compare teams (unless of course you save a screen shot yourself). I don't see why we can't save previous teams somewhere-- maybe WIS could even charge a very small fee to save them and saving them must be voluntary or "requested."

Additionally, I don't see why two random team's can't be simmed against each other. So, two coaches set up their gameplan, input it into the simulator with their team (Say I Wanted to save my SW Baptist team from last year, I could put in code SWB4708 or something like that) vs any other team (I could sim it against SIU4008 or something to see how it would do against some of Billy G's great championship teams) and we could run it 100 times or something and it would show the results... SWB wins 53 times, Logan Driskill averages 17.8 points per game and is the "Series MVP."

Again, these are just ideas, but they seem to be pretty plausible and if it's not something that WIS/HD is capable of now, it seems like it's something they should be working towards in the near future. It would increase the amount of time each user spends on the site, generate discussion, and give people something to work towards. We could run all-time tournaments for the best D1, D2, and D3 teams of all time.

We could settle the strongest worlds, figure out if a D3 team could be a D1 team in a series (assumedly a Sim D1 team), and end debates about the best team(s) of all time.

I agree in fact it kind of irks me that we cant at the least see our old rosters and those ratings.  At the least if we could do that that would be a huge plus

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
I'm a little upset this didn't get more attention, now how am I going to know if my dynasty teams > than some of Billy G's teams when the press was god?

It shouldn't be much trouble. They have the historical pages for SIM Baseball's theme leagues, where you can see the rosters and standings of previous seasons under the same theme league. Shouldn't be much coding to transfer it from SIM baseball to HD.

That's not the same thing at all.  Old SLB teams are still made up of players that are still in the system.  HD also saves stats, it just doesn't save ratings.  It would be an entirely different piece of code.

Ok, I see what you are saying. I was thinking of treating the ratings just like stats, but I guess part of the problem is that every season, there's a huge group of new players that need their data to be saved, which becomes a huge data storage problem in the long run.

Be fun if they even just saved the champs each year.

I'll just throw out there what I do for all of my teams, though I do like to look at stats and carry around papers as well lol.

After every season I print out my team schedule on one side, and my player stats on the other side, printing the final ratings at the very bottom as well. I copy and paste the info into MS Word then print, as it makes it easier for printing purposes. I then list any awards next to players' names so if my C got first team all conference I'll put MEAC1 next to his name.

I intend to enter all this information into a database someday (soon?), but that's how I go about logging my HD history, if anyone cares or if it helps anyone.

Take care.

What would be really cool is that after you win the NT, your team is placed in an ultimate tournament bracket. They take all the NT winners for that season, then when all 10 worlds are done they play it out. They would have some kind of seeding system (maybe rpi percentage) and 6 teams would have byes, the other 4 would play it out to get in to the round of 8 and so on. The coaches could set gameplans like it was a regular HD game and the winner would get extra reward points or something. I think this would be awesome and HD would be able to advertise the Ultimate Tournament idea.

This is a good idea.

What if we could just save them ourselves? A link that basically allows you to DL the data into a Excel or a spreadsheet or something. That way, WIS doesn't have to deal with storing the data.

Thank you for making me feel "normal" colonels19!! I've done something similar for my seasons

I'm sure other people will say the same thing, but I'm not sure that doing what I do makes you "normal" lol.
