If a player has a no trade clause, is he more willing to accept a trade if you demote him?  I have a guy who I really need to move.  Have someone who wants him but he exercised his no trade.  I was going to put him on waivers and let him (or someone else) pick him up, but he has 2 option years remaining so I cant do that either.

I doubt it. It used to be, trade him to a better team and he can be traded. Don't know if that still works.

Yeah the problem is I was in the WS last year and my team is ready for another run at it, not many teams that I can trade him to that need him

If you start the season off slow, a way opens up.

hmm good point.. I wonder if I DFA him will it let me put him on waivers..?  I have a team that is willing to claim him, my only risk would be that he gets a demotion penalty and the other team changes his mind because of the demotion

If you're willing to put him on waivers, and get nothing -- how good is he? I'd wait and trade him early in the season.

Im willing to get nothing for him in return for getting his salary off my books ;)    Juan Tatis
