Yes. I had a PG last season (DIII) who was my first recruit ever in HD (i.e.-I had no clue what I was doing when I grabbed him) who was carrying a 35 LP with average/slightly above avg. Ath and Spd for the position and division. He hadn't scored more than 60 points in a single season for me and I would have dropped him had it not been for the new engine switchover and talk that guards could now go low and play in the paint. He averaged about 11 ppg in 17-18 min. per contest and wound up taking a lot of FT's (I had him set to -2 for 3-pt. frequency)...easily the surprise of my season.
He didn't have much of a rebounding value, so I didn't drop him into an SF spot, but if you're solid on rebounding, I think its a perfectly viable option.
