If you drop the value of a contract you had offered (and been in #1 slot) will that delay him signing?

Shouldn't unless the other bidding owners didn't bother to withdraw their bid, in which case you'll probably be outbid.  But I've never tested it.

I believe it can, even if the pending offers from other coaches don't cause you to be outbid.

You can see this with both FA and IFA - when there is only one team making an offer, players will sign pretty quickly. When there are multiple teams with close $ offers, it takes much longer (even when the owners aren't changing the offers).

I have noticed this before, which is why I asked.  I wonder if the system is smart enough to know if you are dropping your offer that it is multiple offers from the same team, or if they consider the fact they have multiple offers regardless of its from the same team.

Yup, I was wondering about the fact that he received more then one offer, regardless of whether it was withdrawn
