I understand your point, but you should know that your approach is relatively rare. Most HOF debates center around one of two bones of contention: either sabermetric analysis vs. conventional stats, or career vs. peak value. You seem to take the peak value approach to the extreme. RL Baseball is full of short peak wonders that never sniff the HOF: Roger Maris, Dave Cash, Doc Gooden, "The Bird" FIdrych, etc.
Maris would be the best comp for your example, because he actually held a season record on retirement. But even he had a few good years besides his mammoth year. Do you really think he belongs in the Hall?
Having said that, I'd love to see more stats and records listed ... because I'd just love to see them without regard to whom I vote for for the HOF.
