"Looking to be drafted first round" signability Topic

Can players who look to be drafted in the first round or else return to college be successfully signed in later rounds? Or are they a lost cause like the "Probably Won't Sign" players?

I had one I drafted in the 2nd who told me to go to hell. I checked a few others in our world and I didn't notice any that would sign. I could be wrong though.

I think they ask for big 1st round money, even if drafted much later.  I haven't drafted one that's been good enough to pay millions. So I don't know if they accept the big money they ask for.

If hes good enough I dont see him going to the 2nd round

What about those "Probably won't sign.  Has his heart set on going to college." players?  Has anyone EVER had one of them sign, or seen one of them sign?  I can't remember ever seeing one actually sign.  My guess is the probability of signing one of these guys is somewhere around 25%, so I'm sure there are some out there...just curious if it's been witnessed by anyone that frequents the forums.

yes they sign, but often cost a ton.

Eh?
So you could get the comp 40th overall pick next season?

Wouldn't that be the next season's 4th overall he was shooting for?

Correct

I had one who said he wanted to go to college and wouldn't sign but he did. Took him 10th overall and he asked for $5MM.

I had one a few seasons back that would not sign even though I met his demands. A red X appeared instead of negotiations  and I could not offer him more money.  www.whatifsports.com/HBD/Pages/Popups/ProspectProfile.aspx

I'm wondering if the player's consultant/agent has anything to do with it.  It seems (and I can't back this up) that if their consultant is their mother, they're less likely to sign.
