In Bo Jackson, season 15, we had 17 teams that needed to hire a fielding coach during coach hiring.  However, there were only 4 fielding coaches available that had a fielding rating above 64.  Anyone else see a problem here?

I am not asking for there to be 10+ fielding coaches with a 90+ rating but when the top 5 fielding coaches available for hire have ratings of 87, 86, 86, 80, 64 (and going down fast after that), there needs to be something done.  If there were several fielding coaches with ratings in the 70s available I think biding would not go crazy like it has done.  It is likely the top fielding coach will be getting paid over $5mil which is not very realistic.

Why?  Sounds like an even playing field to me.   If there were 30 at 87 and the rest were 55 or lower, then you have a gripe.

Not really but I don't feel like explaining that this is a game of acquistions.   Some owners have Cy Young caliber aces, some don't.

Supply and demand

If you want one of the 80+ FC's, budget for it and make sure you outbid the other 16 owners.

I think the problem is that there are too many good hitting and pitching coaches. If part of the game is supposed to be about making financial choices, then why should it just be about fielding instructors?

Part of the problem with the vanishing "good" fielding coaches was the fact that so many of them were hired as bench coaches by those owners who learned how to game the system.  That loophole was supposedly closed by the recent update, and I would expect that things should start to revert back to "normal" in another season or two.

I hope you are right tecwrg cause here is what the top available fielding coaches got paid:

1) fielding rating 87  salary $7.2M
2) fielding rating 86  salary $4.9M
3) several others in the $2-3 mil range because biding for fielding coaches went crazy.

What precisely is the problem with those salaries?

Is it anything other than you just think they should be paid less?

One can only assume the owners were forced, at gunpoint, to offer those contracts.

Nothing wrong with a 64 FI. With a decent loyalty rating, in a couple years, he becomes a 70+ FI and moving up fast.
