I've done about zero work on this so I thought I'd ask.     Is HBP influenced by temper?    Seems like all my leaders in HBP have tempers in the teens/twenties.

This has been mentioned anecdotally before.

Pitchers only seem to hit the stoners.

Well, after extensive research, I've determined that it is. 

Single season leaders in all my worlds are low temp players.   Several are 0 temp.

So the guys getting hit are the ones with the low tempers, correct?

Any thoughts on if temper is linked to pitchers hitting batters? Or is that control related?

I haven't done 8 minutes of research on that yet.

I am only active right now in 1 world and I didnt see any thing but I thought across multiple worlds with several seasons you may have.

I quickly checked one world I'm in (checked career leaders over the 10 seasons)

From a side of the Batter getting hit... yep temper sure looks to be the key factor

From a side of the Pitcher hitting a guy..Not sure. The temper rating of 4 of the 5 is well over 50 and 4 of the 5 over a control rating of at least over 75. Maybe it's just a factor of who they play against? If they play against players with low tempers more often...

If 4 of the 5 are well over 50, that's what you'd expect, right?  If they have Zambrano-like tempers, you'd expect them to hit more guys.

The thing is with Batters it's a Low Temper Rating...the get hit more often. The guys that get hit the most of tempers under 10??

So you'd expect Pitchers who hit guys more often also would have an 'extreme' rating here. BUT they don't??!! The highest of the 5 is 66 and he's 3rd on the list. The #1 on the list who has hit 111 over his 10 season career has a temper rating of 58 (middle of the road really). The lowest temper rating of the 5 is 38 (and he's 5th).... So where are the guys with tempers of 90+ or under 10???

Also, all but 1 of the 5 have decent control.... so that's not it. Will have to look at the other 3 worlds I'm in and maybe at my teams etc Maybe I can find something OR maybe Mike can.

Just a quick glance tells me there's no common attribute.   I'd think temper, patience, control or make-up would be the tell-tell rating.   It's all over the board. 

So, the batter is the driver, and the pitcher is a random element. Or so it seems.

I didn't check HR allowed or anything like that.   Could play a part.  Doubt it though.

I guess the logic here is that pitchers don't come inside on high Temper batters, because the batter might snap and go all George Bell on them?

This was determined well over a year ago. Yes, temper most certainly affects a batters rate of being hit.

do players get ejected for charging the mound?  This should happen.
