lots of things, some like real life, such as does your team always fall behind when someone is in the lineup, or does your starting lineup generally do well or poorly?
another thing to watch for - although it is just a snapshot, is the fatigue status at various times, green is great, red is bad, everthing else is a shade in between. If you are constantly red, try finding players with more stam, or try slowing down your offense, or quit pressing if you are, those sorts of things
How are your end of game settings working? in the game you played did you start freezing the ball at the right time, did your defense work, etc
Are your shots being taken by who and from where you had hoped? Again, I look pretty close at the beginning of games, is it working right for my starting lineup.
I also look to see how the rotations are wokring, in other words is the subbing going how I wanted it too or how I pictured it would
