Box Score

Other than the lopsided score, does anything seem off to you?

Other than the manager left him in there for 6.1 innings? Or that I show Hamilton's actually a position player that was trotted out to the mound as a starting pitcher and got slaughtered?

I don't see anything unusal except you have a pitcher misslabeled as a hitter.

That's part of it. He's actually a converted tryout camp guy stuck at 1B, but for some reason Sparky decided he belonged on the mound anyway.

Another interesting result of that is that I'm pretty sure we played the entire game with only 8 men on the field.

Through that entire thing, there was only one ground-out (x-3) by the other team, and the 1B-turned-SP also recorded one otherwise-unaccounted-for putout. I guess he pitched then sprinted to first base on contact? No wonder so many runs were allowed.

Fascinating... when Crain comes into the game to relieve him, Hamilton continues to hit, along with all the other stuff.

There's no doubt that Hamilton was playing both 1B and pitcher, but I'm not sure there weren't two of him on the field.

Maybe you should sign some draft picks.

I'm pretty sure that if a guy is by nature a pitcher, Sparky will always consider him one no matter what you change his primary position to.

He threw 255 pitches! Don't expect he'll be taking the mound again any time soon.

Second Game of the Rookie league.

Looks like maybe this game supports the theory of two Hamiltons. He picked up an error dropping a foul ball and, while that could be a pitcher miscue, it's far more likely to be a 1B miscue. He also picked up a second putout, but only one occurred while he was on the mound. The second ground-out was after he'd been pulled.

We may not see Hamilton on the mound again, as it seems Sparky has come out of his coma and recognized the staff/rotation that I have at rookie and my SP#1 has the ball next to his name now.
