Marica, no question the hiring logic is off. That said, just shoot them a ticket and they will reinstate you as the coach.

marica, WIS kept giving me $5 incentives to return, so I just used them to buy a season and applied in Phelan to A prestige Stanford.  In my time in the world, I'd been to postseason every year, including all but 2 seasons to the NT.  At Oregon (my last previous team), I'd gone to 4 FFs, lots of S16s, including 8 of the last 9 years, being ranked in the top 10 each time.  Unfortunately, my last season, I only made it to the PIT.  Stanford, in its previous season, missed postseason entirely and fell to my last prestige level.  Almost needless to say, HD's wacky hiring logic sent me a refusal.  I know there are more egregious hiring errors out there, but I personally found this a bit laughable, and my sentiments are with you.

I ended up at Texas Tech, but applied to Louisville first. My last six seasons have included five years of 21 or more wins at Jacksonville State, and yet I was denied for not having the ability to "instill a winning atmosphere." Um...okay.

js, no question that your most recent season carries way, way too much weight. (Although it's worth noting that your current/former school's prestige and the relative prestige of the school you're applying to is not part of the process, nor should it be.)

marica - if you want it back, act fast

most recent season - most recent season is hugely important - too important in the job logic

four seasons - it generally ignores seasons older than 4

postseason - getting to postseason, getting to NT is very key - good seasons without NT aint worth much (unless get deeeep in PIT)

Totally agree, dalt. I just threw that in there as evidence the progam I built at Oregon was completely on par with the program that turned me down.

It simply hits me as ironic that WIS, which certainly wants lost customers to return, has significantly faulty job logic that absolutely prevented the return of a lost customer. Sure, I was only using free credits, but if I got the program (which corrected job logic would have done), maybe I would've stayed and begun to pay.

Thanks guys, I feel a bit better for venting.

No, I did not send in a ticket on this.  Yes, they are going to lose a team over this.  I am tired of all of the problems.  Oh to be fresh and starry eyed again, but I am not.  Well, I still have 4 teams playing.  Maybe we can figure out new and exciting ways to lose each of them too, roflmao.

I wish there was some more clarity on "keep looking" and "long shot".  I have a good 4 years in D2, four straight NT appearances and have A+ loyalty and prestige.  Not that I'm looking to leave my team necessarily but I did apply to a "long shot" and got a quick rejection.  I'm not sure I have ever been accepted to either category mentioned above yet those schools always go on to be SIM controlled the next season.  To me you should either be "qualified" or "not qualified".  If you are qualified yet the school wants to wait to see if someone is more qualified then maybe the school holds your application for a few cycles.  That or if you're a "long shot" then hold your application until the end of hiring and if nobody more qualified applies then they will hire you.  I just don't get the swift rejection for these two if I'm going to get rejected just the same as I would for "not qualified" jobs.

Totally agree.  Why put "long shot" if the truth really is that you have no shot.

I currently coah a team that has C+ prestige, and have maintained that prestige level for the past three seasons. After eight years of coaching at this school I applied for the opening at my alma mater which was also a C+ prestige level. Simmy told me to "keep looking", and my application was quickly rejected. It is apparent that the only applicant that would be hired would be someone with a B- or higher prestige that was willing to take a "step backwards", which did not happen. You would think the hiring logic would be open to lateral moves, especially when there is not a question of loyalty.

Well,

I don't normally get on here and whine much, in fact I don't normally get on here much, lol.  But this was jsut a little too much for me.  I was thinking about dropping a team but at the last minute decided I would keep it.  Well I missed the renewal date.  No big, right?  Well, I went to resign it and it says that I need to keep looking as I do not have the credentials that the school wants.  After taking a school that had only gone to tournaments twice in its history with a D---- prestige back to a winning record with over 50 wins in the last 3 years and taking them to the pit, they are too good for my resume.  I about died laughing.

And they think there is nothing wrong with the hiring logic?

Well, I guess this one will cost them a player in that world as I have no incentive to take a new team there.  ROFL.
i got charles barnes...
