HVs or CVs? Topic

For a close school, say ~100mi, a HV = ~$300 and a CV = ~$800. So vets, in a battle which one will get you more bang for your buck? i.e. for these costs, which one is worth more per $$?

HV better for close by. eventually CVs are worth more, not sure where the breaking point is tho.

its the exact opposite, HV:CV ratio becomes better towards campus visits as you get further

i would go with all home visits at that distance

Really?  Then you're clearly not very good at math.  The recruiting value of an HV or CV is constant.  As you get to long distances their prices get closer together so the CV becomes more efficient.

Yeah when a recruit is close you can use almost 3 HV at the cost of 1 CV. Obviously going all out HV is the way to go. When you go further in distance it goes like 800 HV to 1200 CV or something is when its better to go CV over HV.

I just always go whenever 2 HV<1 CV I go with HVs and if 2 HV>1CV I go with CVs

I think 2.5 is a slightly closer number.  Maybe somewhere in between.  If it's close I don't worry about it too much but lean towards HVs since they have lower marginal cost (ie. if you need 1 less you can pocket the extra cash).
