Sim would not PH Barry Bonds for Marty Barrett in a crucial situation. I ripped Support a new one after the person on that end found nothing wrong with that.

9/9pm2: Bos @ Milw: With 2 outs in the top of the 9th and the bases loaded down 12-9, shouldn't Bonds have been PHing for Barrett? I checked Barrett's name off to be PH for, Bonds was on "bench" not "rest," and there was a backup utility infielder available to take the field if necessary. Bonds was on auto-rest at 98, and I know for a fact he was at 99 before that game started.

Bringing in Bonds in this case would have just been bringing in what you already had at the plate. Maybe a little more power but Barrett actually has a higher batting average. Therefore, Barrett was left in to bat for himself.

With 2 outs, bases loaded, down 3 with 2 outs in the 9th, a slam is exactly what the team needed. Plus the pitcher and Barrett were righties and Bonds was a lefty. I don't know who I am talking to and I don't know the turnover rate at WifS, but after reading your answer, I seriously doubt that you know baseball at all. Are you even from a country where they play the sport? First of all, they had the SAME average in 1988. Second of all, Bonds had a MUCH higher OBP and SLG which of course means his OPS is way higher than Barrett's, which means third of all Bonds has a LOT more power than Barrett, not to mention the lefty/righty matchup which Sim notoriously loves was foregone in this case. Even Nokes PH for Valle vs. Lee Smith in my game vs. Seattle this afternoon. For me to have to argue that even a non-juiced season of Bonds is better than Barrett is beyond ridiculous, as that should go unsaid, Sim should've made the move, and you should've admitted the mistake.
