Moving up to D1 Topic

Obviously the point of this game is to move up to D1 and be successful.
What is the best of going along this path? building up a good d2 program for a while and try to jump on a higher prestige school when the time comes?
or try to jump into the lower levels of d1 right away?

My opinion would be to jump to D1 as soon as you can. It is very hard to get a great D1 job no matter how long you stay at D2 and no matter your record. Just my thoughts.

While you may not be able to get a great DI job, you could get a school at C level prestige vs one at D level prestige by building up a DII resume.  Also keep in mind that not all DI schools are created equal, they have different baseline prestiges.

Yeah I would not going to a D- D1 school, but I could get a D/D+ school I would go.

I'd build a program and jump into a mid-major out of D2 if possible, otherwise you have the chance of getting stuck at the low end D1 school, in the long run imo you get further staying in D2 a season or two longer.
