ineligible going JUCO question Topic

Hi, i recruited a guy who was ineligible, i thought i would have him on my roster this year but without be able to play him until next year. but instead he dissapear leaving this message.

"Coach, I've decided that taking a year off wouldn't help my future in hoops so I've decided to spend at least next season playing JUCO ball. Let's stay in touch."

Is that common that ineligible leaves after 1 day ?

At DII, there's a small risk that you'll sign an ineligible player and, after signing, he'll go JUCO instead.  You're stuck with a walk-on until next season

Thanks for the answer, with small risk, would you say that it's less than 20% ?

I don't know the exact figure but I think it's even less than 10%.
