This is my current roster, I am in my 7th season at UL-Lafayette, and my boosters are complaining. The recruiting class I;m bringing in is much more talented than the group I currently have. I plan on starting 4 freshman. If I do so will I be around Lafayette long enough to see them develop.

I plan to start all 4 recruits and one of the points at the 2 spot. I have one scolly left and have another good center and a quality international point that have me as number 1 on there list. Just looking for any opinions or thoughts. I always learn something whenb I get feedback from other coaches.

1. Maybe another vet knows the progression from boosters complaining to getting axed (I know there's 1 or 2 more dire levels than this, though)...but if I had to guess, I'd say it's a coin flip that you'll be around for another 4 seasons, as I think you have to make the NT to "clear" your job status back to Meeting Expectations.  But you have a really young team (4 FR, 5 SO), so I don't think you'll be making the postseason this go round, so that won't help your job status.  Maybe in 2-3 seasons...if you catch some breaks.  I'd schedule all home games vs. SIMS for next season, maybe having a good record can buy you an additional season from your AD.   I think you're going to really struggle this season, and probably next season as well.  With such a young team, take the easy road for now.  Or mix in some easy road games vs SIMs that you KNOW you can win.

2. 2 of those 4 freshmen have really low ST (53 and 54) for FB/FCP combination.  You'll be lucky to get 15 mpg out of them for the first 2 seasons.  Better plan on going slowdown a LOT (edit:  I kinda forgot that with FB you can't go slowdown, doh.  Oh well).  I realize they have high potential there, but if you're going to run that combination of sets, you REALLY need to recruit ST as if it was a skill category (imo of course)
