I was wondering if anyone knows what type of a player will do better on defense at either pf or c...everything else equal
Player 1    de   80    sb  25
Player 2     de   18    sb  84

I have been under the impression that the defensive rating is way more important and that the sb rating is directly related to the number of shot blocks or am i mistaken?

Zone, man or press? Speed and Ath?     

man or press     the player 1  has a 44 and speed 47     player 2 has a of 45 and speed at 42

I'll take def in man or press and SB in zone

If you are running a motion offense which guy would u attack more

if they are in a man

I would be attacking player 2.

Player 1 and it's not close, the SB rating is the most overrated rating in the new engine.

Really i have been afraid to go after those guys    what ratings do you think are the most important could you rank them

Not so sure I agree with this. In the old engine aboslutely, but in the new engine the defense rating has been given some serious legs. Guys with poor D ratings tend to foul a lot more than they did in the past and from what I can tell are easier to take advantage of in M2M. However great ath/sp combo will still lead to a higher amount of steals, I'm not sure of the  correlation in blocks. For example last season in Phelan I played 3-2 zone in D2 and had an 88ath/32sp/90D/90blk C who averaged 1.3 blks per game while my PF was 63ath/52sp/47D/90blk and he blocked 1.5 shots per game. The C also played more minutes, I'm not sure if it was just variance or is the relative high speed more important than elite athleticism (at least when the other category is respectable) it comes to shot blocking.

I play m2m and when I face teams with much better ath/spd, I lose easily due to me fouling out at the pg/sg/sf.

I would say the exact opposite thing...

I would take Player 1 defensively and it wouldn't be close for me either, but I would definitely say SB is not overrated. I think it adds another level to your defense that wasn't there before and is the difference between a good defender and an elite defender when talking about big men. I would say that defense is definitely more important, but don't overlook SB when looking for a defensive big man either.
