Depth Chart Help Topic

I've never really understood the best way to setup a depth chart if you want guys backing up multiple positions. Out of these guys, ideally I'd want Coots, Grant, York, England, and Wilson all getting about the same amount of minutes between the three positions. Hightower is a Frosh and should only play if guys get hurt or foul out but somehow during exhibition I had him 3rd at 2 positions and he ended up playing 20 minutes each game.

Taking Hightower off the depth chart is an option but running 2 deep last year in a game my starting PG got hurt and my backup ended up playing the entire 2nd half.

How would you guys go about setting this up? (any help is appreciated)

I've had the same difficulty. For me, it helps a little if I can stagger the stamina at the starting positions. In your case (without me looking at your team) IF the PF/C positions have very good upper classmen starting and you can get scoring there - then the 3 smaller positions you may want to start underclassmen set to fairly fresh. When the bench comes in your team scoring can shift to the smaller players who you can set to getting tired. And/or - at 1 position put 2 low stamina guys at fairly fresh while the other 2 positions each have a guy at getting tired, maybe 1 starting here and one subbing there.

I'm sure you've probably already tried stuff like this but it's my $0.02.

In the first exhibition, it looks like Wilson's foul trouble was the main culprit.  That kept him from starting the second half and pulled Hightower into minutes at SF.  Also it hit blow out territory for the last ten minutes or so.

In the second game Wilson fouled out and Grant had 4 fouls.  Looking at the first sub in both halves, each time all three guys needed to come out, necessitating the use of Hightower.

So, you may want to play with the foul trouble aggressiveness for these five guys.  Also, try to figure out a way to stagger the subs, maybe leave one of them on GT and the others on FF.  Use GT on the two subs.  And teach Wilson how to play some defense.

Use Coots at starting PG with England as his backup, York at starting SG with Grant as his backup, Wilson at SF with Hightower as his backup, Pontius at PF with Hatch as his backup, Lacefield at Center with Kim as his backup, use Sherman as your utility guy as the 3rd string guy at SF, PF, and Center, Redshirt Burnham and get his Ath, Sp, Def, and Perimeter up, Grant at 3rd string PG, Hightower at 3rd string SG, York at 4th string PG, England at 4th string SG, Pontius at 4th string SF, Lacefield at 4th string PF, and Hatch at 4th string Center.

Set everyone to Fairly Fresh for Fatigue under the (Depth Chart) Drop Down Tab.

Under the (Player Gameplan) Drop Down Tab/ 3pt shooting, set York and Grant at +1, Hightower and England to 0, Wilson, Burnham, and Coots to -1, and everyone else at -2.

Under Team Gameplan, I would use (SlowDown) for your Primary Tempo until you get your IQ's up.
