there is not a generic answer to this - depends on the prestige of your program, how strong the kid is and when you are in the recruiting process

i can see how distance effects efficiency, but again that's what i'm looking at, the most efficient way to get considered. for example, i imagine $300 worth of packages gets more considering credit than a $300 scouting trip. i can definitely see how the efficiency of methods changes, but does the efficiency of any recruiting method severely increase in comparison with other methods?

I assume by "Packages", you mean "Send Materials"?

I never use "Send Materials" while recruiting.

distance affects the answer because the relative cost of different methods varies

prestige affects the answer because if your prestige is high and the kid's standing is low to moderate you can get him for very low effort, while that will not work if your prestige is moderate and his status is high - efforts that will get a one star kid to consider Duke will have no effect if Eastern Western Upper Lower tries to get considered by a four star
