I was just wondering how much a Childhood favorite of a recruit actually meant to them? I don't want to go off and waste recruiting money if I have no chance. For example this is a 4star recruit and I am a D+ up and coming program, would anyone of you think i have a shot?

childhood favorite means very little (if anything) in the recruiting process.  you will be battling higher prestige for a 4*.
