Is there a legend on the recruits message to see who's ahead/behind. I got this:
Coach, you've sold me, but another school is doing a great job of selling their program too. I just can't decide yet.

Am I winning or losing? This is a transfer so no future star scout update.

I believe this means you & the other school are basically even...

One of us has to be ahead, otherwise, how will he decide who to sign with?

Obviously someone is ahead, but it isn't enough for him to sign one way or another yet. 

I'd say bdixon is right - you're basically even, but I've always taken this kind of a message to mean that you're ahead just slightly (like 52% leaning your way, 48% the other school's)... so if things stayed exactly the same for the rest of recruiting, he'd probably sign with you really late, but it wouldn't take much effort to sway him to the other school.

If it were me I'd put some more effort into recruiting him just to fend off the other school.

Once recruiting is over you could always SM the other coach and ask him if he got a similar message that same cycle - that'd be interesting to see what it said.

That message was actually from the cycle right after myself, and 2 other coaches put effort into him. Since, I have put in more effort and I assume the other coach did as well, because the long distance coach has dropped out already, leaving just us two. Despite the additional effort, I didn't get additional messages from him regarding which way he's leaning. 

You are ahead, I received the same message last night. Then received no additional scholarship messages despite additional recruiting efforts. Then saw in the future stars 2am update it stated the player is definitely leaning towards my school. The previous future stars report had the recruit definitely leaning towards my opponent's team.

Thanks. Always tricky with transfers and no future star updates.

Ok you are right. I threw 2 more HV his way and he signed without any additional messages this cycle. Looks I was leading the whole way. 

I think the "Coach you've sold me..." should have been the indication that you were ahead.
