I'm at DII, calling a DI prospect

"I'll be honest here buddy -- I think we have better opportunities elsewhere. _______sounded only moderately interested - at best."

Is that a 'No'??.  Or, is there hope that he'll consider me??

You can grab him with enough work.  But the big tell is if he returned your calls or not, and if he did what the message was.

I placed one call and that was the message but it came from my asst. coach, not from the recruit

I think you can get him then.  Another phone call or two should let you know for sure though.

you can also get that message from guys within 70 miles who still show in the pool 1 division above.
