So I made a minutes promise to a player who, it turns out, couldn't hit the ground if he jumped out of a window. At this point I'm pretty much content to let the kid walk at season's end and take my chances finding someone who knows what the basket is for next season.
Aside from the player getting upset and leaving the program, are there any other negative effects I should be aware of from an unmet promise? I've got enough "soft" games coming up that I can probably get him to his minutes promise without taking on too much risk if required to avert catastrophe.
Thanks vets!
