I have an idea for a progressive that is not as demanding as most.  What if instead of the laborious process of an annual draft, the AAA process was used to assign new players randomly?  All the owner would have to do is research his own players and decide which  to keep in ongoing seasons.

This is my plan.  For the first year each team would be assigned 30/20 WAA AAA, real name.  For the first year only you would also be able to select $40M of players for yourself, but these players would not stay with your team in succeeding years.  Only assigned AAA players can be kept in future years.  There will be an $8M limit on chosen first year players' salaries.

At the end of the first year you would choose to keep 25 of your 50 AAA, who would begin season 2 at any year of their career and who would progress in future seasons.  From the second year on you would get 18/18 average AAA to supplement your roster and be eligible to join your permanent roster in season 3, 4, 5, etc.

No Clones, DH or waiver wire
Yes to trades and transaction deadline
$8M limit on first year chosen players
3 injured reserve slots per season allowed for progressing players who miss a season or more in the WIS database.
unique stadium
Team name should include a geographic location somewhat consistent w/ your park and a nickname
first alignment to be geographical

I am willing to tweak the specifications if someone points out flaws that I have not considered.

Will players be unique to each team? Or will there be multiple uses of certain players if "randomly" assigned?

There would be no uniqueness requirement.  Players, especially those with long careers, might be randomly assigned to more than one team.
