line up page...last 10 days... Topic

on the lineup page (to set starting lineup)...under the view drag down...can we please add "last 10 games" category...that would be a nice addition when adjusting lineups...as of now we have to click on each players name...then go to game log...then repeat for all players...i assume this would be an easy fix...let me know...thanks...charles...save_mr_x...

I am curious....why?  It's not as if players get "hot" and ride some kind of wave that impacts their performance in their subsequent games.

It could just be insanity but it does seem like players ride hot/cold streaks.  Especially RP's...I've seen some RP's get rocked for 3 games in a row, then rattle off a scoreless streak of 20 innings.  I've also thought about having Last 10 Days available when setting lineups.

Random statistical sample size.  There are no streaks.

either way...it is just something i like to look at...and it would be an easy add for admin i would think...

I wouldn't think it would be that easy.

No offense, but given that there are no streaks in the game, you're basically asking them to program a change into the game that would allow you to set your lineups based on an error in your thought process. I don't see them making that change.

It's fun "toy" that has no practical use.   I'd like to see how my players have performed against particular pitchers.  I think it would be useful but the truth is that it would be such a small sample size so you really couldn't glean much info from it.

Same thing as last 10 games.

I play streaks even if they dont exist. If you had the choice of two pitchers for Game 7 of the World Series, and one of them threw a complete game shutout in Game 4 (and had the better regular season to boot) while the other one got knocked out of the Game 3 in the 4th inning, yet the ratings for the one that got knocked out are better than the guy that tossed the shutout, who would you start? For me, there would be no doubt I go with Mr. Shutout.

So the Game 4 pitcher pitched better in the regular season and is doing better in the postseason, but you seem to think that the Game 3 guy with inferior results has the better ratings. Is it possible that your interpretation of who has superior ratings is in error?
12/23/2010 1:39 PM
The guy with the better ratings gets the start every time.
12/23/2010 2:38 PM
Define "better".
12/23/2010 3:38 PM
Higher?
12/23/2010 5:29 PM
In what?  And does it have to be everything higher?
12/23/2010 5:39 PM
I believe we've established that we want highest ratings over the last ten games. Or something.
