RECRUITING CLASSES RANKING Topic

Does anyone know exactly how the recruiting classes ranking are formulated? I have seen schools with many recruits to just one recruit make the top 32. I know some of it depends how many years the recruit has left to play, but I cant seem to figure out where the rest of the data comes from.
Thanks

Pretty sure it's mostly tied to overall ratings.

Yes, it's mostly ratings but it doesn't consider potential. It's based on their ratings right now.  Walkons, however, are considered recruits so you'll never see a ranked class with a walkon.  Transfers and JUCOs are also considered freshmen which will inflate your numbers.   Occasionally, you'll see a small class get ranked, but it's usually the larger classes that win out

Ive never tried to figure out the basis for the rankings - but it does clearly look at current ratings and not potential and it does clearly give weight to size of class

on the other hand, it is simply not true that a class never gets ranked with a walkon - I have seen it happen - like this season for my Michigan State team and for my Stanford team. I'm sure they would have been ranked higher without a walkon, but it doesnt preclude a ranking

what is the point breakdown? Example: DIII CRUM World, TEAM X 6 RECRUITS 410 points, TEAM Y 6 RECRUITS 405 points does anyone know how the exact point breakdown per recruit ranking is calculated?

subtract durabulity and stamina from the recruits then average players players ratings.

I think it is that, but dont hold me to it

keep in mind, the recruit rankings do not affect the game in any way - nor are they a particularly accurate measure of the value or quality of recruiting classes

The rankings are not that important, but they should include recruited ineligibles at some point.   They are not counted the season they show up or the season they become eligible.  Persona non grata.
