When to promote? Topic

I have heard that they do no like to spend two years at the same level.  Is the best time to promote after the playoffs or at the very beginning of the next season?

I believe the OP is talking about promoting thru the minors, not into the majors.

If so, it does not matter. I promote at the end of the minor league playoffs to guard against retirements.

Because there is an off chance a player will retire if he spends too much time at one level, I like to promote before the rollover.  And I'll promote before the playoffs if the team I'm promoting to is in the playoffs and his current team is not, so he gets extra playing time.
