How many days are burnt during Rollover?  I have a type-a free agent who suffered a major injury and wondering about his ability to sign on the offseason.  He has 207 days remaining on the injury and we just played our 121st game of the season.

170something.   He'll be ready at rollover.

Rollover is 110 days.  He'll probably be ready by spring training.

Oops.  Regular season is 170something.   I think.

HBD season (pre-season through end of World Series) = 85 real life days = 255 HBD days.

Rollover = 365 days per calendar year - 255 HBD days = 110 days.

What about leap year?

So if its 110 days + 40ish days left in the regular season he will stil have 50ish days left on injury.  How will this impact his free agent standing, will he still be a type a?  Even after his injury he still should qualify for type-a, obviously would be a sure thing if his injury recovery were factored in

You're disregarding the post-season, which is approximately 2 real-life weeks (around 42 HBD days).

So he's got 40some days regular season + 40some days post-season + 110 days rollover.  Maybe 10-15 or so HBD days left on the injury when you roll.

He'll probably be nearly fully recovered from his injury when FA starts.  Maybe less than 5 or so days left at worst.

His potential FA type A designation will be determined by his ratings at rollover, when he'll still be injured (most likely).
