I'm looking for opinions on which of these guy should be my backup C. Take into account that my regular C is adequate vs RHP(69) and very good vs LHP(82) and will be getting the bulk of the starts regardless.. So it's just a matter of who will get the occasional start against either LHP or RHP.

<a style="color:black;" href="http://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=2879214" target="_blank">Rafael DeRojas</a> has great split vs LHP(93), good power(77) and better PC(69). No good vs RHP(45).

<a style="color:black;" href="http://www.whatifsports.com/hbd/Pages/Popups/PlayerProfile.aspx?pid=2302782" target="_blank">D'Angelo Diaz</a> is OK vs RHP(71), has better Contact and BE, PC is 58, but otherwise better defensively.

Both guys might occasional get some ABs at DH.

Too close to matter much.  If you run a lot Diaz gets a little boost with the SPD 69/BR 76, but this could go either way.  Gun to my head, I'd probably choose Diaz since DeRojas is a complete disaster against RHP if your starter gets hurt.

What I'd really do here is try to find a left-handed hitting catcher with an élite glove and tolerable bat and use him as a defensive replacement and occasional starter against RHP with wide split differences.

if I chose DeRojas and my starter got hurt, i would bring up Daiz as the RH platoon.

It's close, but I'd choose Diaz. He has a better arm, meaning he should throw out more runners and his splits compliment your starter, meaning you should be able to sit your starter against some righties, who he is less effective against.
