How is DII recruiting different than DIII? Topic

is it harder to pull down in DII? More likely to have the recruit sniped by a DI school?
Only if the players are "really good" or the d1 coach has LOW expectations.  At an A+ prestige and using exclusivly pulldowns I have never(yet) lost a player to a d1 school.  I have lost them to d2 schools with a lower prestige tho.

Wow, really bri? I've had a bunch of guys sniped by low DI schools. I've practically come to expect it.

I guess im lucky.  Not getting as good as guys as you. Or its location.  I keep waiting

low d1 schools are gradually realizing that they need to set sights lower

Dalt to you battle the d1 schools?  If a d1 guy is on my guys I usually battle.  There are exceptions to this but generally speaking

Just depends on the situation ... if I'm local and they're long distance, battling is an option. But if the DI team is local, I don't think getting into a real battle makes any sense.

As I posted in ethan's thread about player growth, the lower your prestige, the more aggressively you should pulldown. If you don't pulldown, you are left recruiting for only D2 players and D1 dropdowns, and the D1 dropdowns for a D+ prestige are going to pretty much the players that are passed by all the D1 teams and all the D2 teams with prestige C- to A+ (aka, every other D2 teams). This means you can't land a good class, ever.
if you can identify the very best d2-projected recruits in your area you can probably get to about a C+/B- prestige or so, but it would take twice as long as it would getting some pulldowns

exactly you have to consider all the variables involved.  you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them
