We're going to need a replacement for the San Diego franchise in 1976 (Season 8). Team plays at San Diego Stadium. The owner is leaving the site, and has put together a pretty good squad.

The team has 3 stars on offense: George Brett, Carlton Fisk, and Ken Griffey, all early in their careers. The team could probably use some pitching.

We are only at game 114 in 1975 now, so it will be a little while before you take full control of the team.

We use game 120 for determining draft order. If the cutoff was right now, the team would draft 10th for 1976 (record is 57-57) . Expect that to change, but not radically.

It is pretty much a standard progressive. We vote on trades in the forum, which is not the usual format. We use 3 divisions per league & WC format (24 team). This team is in the NL; league uses DH AL only. We use 6/2 below average AAA.

If you have specific questions, just ask.

1976 Outlook: 3 guys retire, 2 go to IR, out of 27. Teams must keep 15 active players from year-to-year, so the max you may cut (of the active guys) is 7. You will need 3 picks, plus however many you cut from the active guys. The team is already at $61M from 22 guys.

IR - Rich Auerbach
IR - Kevin Kobel

RET - Doug Konieczny
RET- Eric Raich
RET - Clyde Wright

If the salary seems low, compare to the salary distribution from 1969-1975 (below), and remember that you will be adding salary during the draft.

Other odds and ends:
  • You must maintain 1100 IP at all times.
  • When we chane/tweak rules, they are voted on. I get one vote, just like everypne else.

OK, now I'm tired of typing... if you have any questions, just ask. It's a good league, and generally has a lot of trading.
